Silent Sunday - NSPCC Donation

22 Jun 2015 by Kevin Stewart

To highlight the aims of Positive Coaching Scotland’s ethos for the parents, supporters and coaches of the Aberdeen and District Juvenile FA’s Development Soccer Sevens all parents, supporters and coaches were asked to watch the games on Sunday 3rd of May 2015 in total silence apart from applauding good play or goals.

Just let the children play with no interference from the sidelines. At this age the game is all about learning and enjoyment for the players. The result is immaterial as there are no league championships or trophies awarded at the end of the season. Therefore why should adults get worked up and sometimes spoil the enjoyment for the children.

The funds Donated originally was to go towards club (40%) and association(10%) funds but the lions share will be donated to the NSPCC Scotland (50%) but the club donated £200 and requested 90% was to go to NSPCC Scotland.

You to can help change the coaching culture in Scotland and help the nations future citizens some of whom may just go on to be successful in sport.
