Growing The Game Award Success for Deveron Youth FC

The purpose of The Scottish Football Partnership’s Growing the Game Award is to assist Scottish FA Quality Mark clubs add one new team to their playing membership. The funding provided assists with the start-up cost of a new team and is delivered in conjunction with the Regional Football Development staff. This ambitious pilot project aims to create 60 new Grassroots teams during the 2014/15 season.

The club in Banff, which has a membership of over 150 boys and girls ranging from the age of 5 to 12, was delighted to receive their award from The SFP. Kevin Stewart, the club’s Football Development Officer commented that “This award has benefited our youngest team with promotion, recruitment and coach education for our volunteers and also new training equipment which is adaptable for this age group. They are a great bunch of kids and this award allows us to provide the children with the best opportunities and start in their footballing careers.”
